Dirhe and Rica, two siblings, study demon-hunting in a School of Battle Arts near a town of Noll, separated from the capital of Nioda by a Terrible isthmus. Although the war with the demons of the lower world was won by the humankind, demons are not completely extinct yet. But Dirhe and Rica will have to find out that the real history is much more complicated than what their instructors teach.

DemonStory is one of the first Russian RPG Maker 2000 games, and it served as an example for many developers to come. Despite never being finished, it demonstrated many non-trivial features of RPG Maker 2000 that became common in the later games. And nowadays it is one of the first games available under a free license: it is available under the terms of CC BY-SA 3.0 (although many resources used are of questionable licenses).
