Description

1971: Bei Mao Xiong und Niu Dian Kuan sind Polizisten der Hong Kong Police Force. Nach einer blutigen Auseinandersetzung zwischen ihnen und der Black Snake Triade wird die Familie von Bei Mao Xiong brutal umgebracht. Alle polizeilichen Beweise deuten darauf, dass Bei Mao Xiong selbst der Mörder seiner Familie war, obwohl er unschuldig ist. Im Rahmen eines äußerst zweifelhaften Gerichtsprozesses wird Bei Mao Xiong für nur 15 Jahre Haft verurteilt. Überzeugt davon, dass hinter dem Mord die Black Snake Triade steckt, beginnt Bei Mao Xiong im Gefängnis für seinen blutigen Rachefeldzug zu trainieren. Dabei hilft ihm ein Martial Arts Ratgeberbuch, über das er den geheimen Kampfstil „Hokuto Shinken“ lernt. Nach 15 Jahren führt ihn sein Rachefeldzug in die Kowloon Walled City, wo er sich übermenschlichen und grausamen Kämpfern gegenüberstellen muss, um die Wahrheit um den Mord an seiner Familie aufzudecken. Doch je weiter er voranschreitet, umso mehr erkennt er, dass hinter dem Mord viel mehr zu stecken scheint, als er dachte. Unterstützt wird er von seinem ehemaligen Partner Niu Dian Kuan und der japanischen Prostituierten Xing Xing.

  1. Bei Mao Xiong and Niu Dian Kuan are both policemen of the Hong Kong Police Force. After a bloody confrontation between them and the Black Snake Triad, Bei Mao Xiongs family gets brutally killed. Although Mao Xiong is innocent, all police evidence proof him to be the murderer. After an extremely doubtful trial, Bei Mao Xiong is sentenced to 15 years of prison. Convinced of the fact that the Black Snake Triad is responsible for his family's death, Bei Mao Xiong starts so exercise for his bloody vengeance by using a book that teaches him the old fighting technique "Hokuto Shinken". After 15 years have passed all clues lead Bei Mao Xiong into the Kowloon Walled City, where he has to face incredibly brutal and dangerous foes in order to find out the truth about his family's death.

"The Righteous - A Kowloon Tale" is a Adventure-Beat 'em Up, inspired by films/series like Fist of the North Star, Riki-Oh, A Better Tomorrow, Bloodsport, Street Fighter II V, Yakuza and many more.

It is the winner of the first prize of the German "Ten Words Contest 2011".
