Description

Saihate Hospital was originally released by 西高科学部 (Nishikou Kagakubu) in 2008. RaCRaTL finished the first version of the translation in 2026, so I'm listing that as the finished date. Characters from Saihate Hospital appear in 西高科学部's second work, The April Fools Feast, but it isn't required to play one to understand the other.

Important Note: As you will be prompted to name your character and possibly input text at certain points in the game, you may see this screen:

Click the marked spot twice to display English characters.

Recommended Age 12+ (Violence and brief terror, some rude language)

Special Note: The music in this game sounds awful with the Windows standard MIDI soundfont. I suggest using VirtualMIDI and a publicly-available soundfont. I like GeneralUser-GS, but FluidR3-GM is popular as well.

Story:
Haruna Saihate is having a very bad day. Not only is she super poor, she's got some weird guy trying to convince her to join his political campaign, another weird guy picked a fight with her, and the second weird guy bribed (via candy) a bunch of kids to mess with her again.

Also, her house has vanished and only she can see that it's happened. So there's that, too.
More importantly, though, there's ____. Even if none of this stuff has happened before, or at least happened in her particular lifetime, he's new. He's out of place. And he's working with a strangely familiar girl in order to... do something to the world.
But he doesn't know that either. All that's clear for now is that those weird guys know more about Haruna than she does herself, everyone wants answers, and a certain secret society's leader is determined that no one learns the truth.

Saihate HOSPITAL... while it looks to be a bunch of dumb kids picking fights at the start, is a tale of imagination and dreams, and how those can provide a respite when reality becomes too much. Still, the longer a dream persists, the more contradictions appear... and if you're trying to build a narrative to deny reality, contradictions are deadly.
