The game begins with a couple of sinister characters taking control of the Elemental Cannon, a powerful weapon that fires antimatter. The two test the weapon obliterating a nearby village, Artix. Zack and his three friends that just left their hometown witness the destruction from a safe distance, unable to do anything to save their friends and relatives.
Flashback to some hours before this event: Zack and Alexia go to a meeting at the council of Artix about the natural events like storms and quakes that are plaguing the area after someone destroyed the magic crystal that was in town. The two offer to repair the crystal but first they need to enlist Mia and Gregory, two friends...
