The game starts telling us of the Creator, the entity that made the world and now calls some chosen heroes in times of need. The Ancient is the protagonist, a descendant of these old heroes of the past and the chosen one. He is awakened from his slumber, and given a sword called Glorious.
The protagonist starts very weak but he's healed after every battles. And if he's killed he is revived. Levelling up also lets you selece which characteristics you will improve. At some levels you can also choose which kind of ability you will learn: do you prefer an elemental strike that lowers defense or one with no element that reduces the attack of the enemy?
The game was inspired by Dark Souls and the other soulslike games.
